The Pitch: Mixr Media is a leading developer of socially-oriented websites targeting niche communities, such as the English-speaking Asian community. Their goal is to capitalize on the growing popularity of niche websites and other growing media frontiers, such as RSS, mobile content, online video, and podcasts.
Formed in August 2006, Mixr Media is the partnership of two long time friends, Anne Chou, who has a background in business development and law, and Hoc Poeng, the developer and designer of all Mixr websites.
Recently, Mixr Media launched Ningin.com, the premier user-driven online destination for Asian-related news and entertainment stories. Ningin has received rave reviews from numerous top bloggers and continues to see strong growth in traffic. Mixr Media expects to launch other online properties later this year and in 2008 such as Keilia.com, a blog network, Zinglish.com, a media wiki, and Okeh.com, a media prediction or futures market.
